Magaya Software Release to Comply with Importer Security Filing (10 + 2) Requirement

To help you comply with US Customs regulations for the Importer Security Filing (ISF) initiative (10 + 2 rule), Magaya Corporation is including a new feature in the next software release called Magaya ISF.

The 10 + 2 rule requires both importers and carriers to submit additional cargo information to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) before the cargo is brought into the United States by vessel. The Interim Final Rule took effect January 26, 2009. The 12-month compliance period ends January 26, 2010.

Magaya ISF will work using the technology that Magaya AMS currently uses to communicate with CBP. Similar to Magaya AMS, the new Magaya ISF will use the information you already entered in your shipment and will run a validation procedure to make sure no vital data is missing. After validation, the transaction will be posted to the CBP system. Notification from CBP will be received back into your system and saved in the appropriate shipment so you will be able to follow every detail of the process.

If your agent at origin also has a Magaya product, they can enter the information for you at origin, where they know all the details about the cargo, and send it to you via the Magaya Network. As a result, you will not have to key any information at the moment of filing. Also, if the agent is registered with CBP, they can file Magaya ISF themselves from origin to CBP.

Magaya ISF will be included in the next release of Magaya software which is scheduled for January 2010.
